BACKGROUND: This action is being requested by the Director of Animal Services due to the newly appointed Executive Secretary-Exempt incumbent who was formerly a Secretary-Advanced Level with the Department of Health Services. The addition of a Secretary-Advanced Level position allows the incumbent to transfer from her previous Health Services classified Secretary-Advanced Level position to a classified Secretary- Advanced Level position in Animal Services. The resulting transfer will then allow the incumbent to be placed on a leave of absence from her classified Secretary-Advanced Level position and then appointed to the former Executive Secretary-Exempt position. This personnel transaction allows the incumbent to maintain her Merit System seniority. FISCAL IMPACT: There's no coast associated with this action due to the cancellation of one (1) Executive Secretary- Exempt position and the addition of one (1) Secretary-Advanced Level position.
