RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution Number 19867 to CREATE a Health Services Information Systems
Programmer/Analyst position for the Information Systems Unit.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Health Services Department has estimated the cost associated with this request to be $128,601.00
which includes 37.79% of county paid benefits and $7,500 for medical benefits. Cancellation of Contract 23-
246 will act as revenue offset for this position.
BACKGROUND:
The Information Systems Division has responsibility for the development; installation and maintenance of the
software applications for the Health Services Department, many of which are in-house developed
applications. A contract employee is currently performing these duties. The additional full-time position will
cancel the need for a contract employee, establish stability to the division and ensure the timely development,
installation and maintenance of software applications.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to add the Health Services Information Systems Programmer Analyst position will result in an
increased backlog and delay in developing customized software requested and required to meet guidelines
for collection and reporting of data.
