(All Districts) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: ADOPT Resolution No. 2005/ 291 approving annual revision to the Total Maintained Mileage for County Roads. (All Districts) FISCAL IMPACT: None. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS AND BACKGROUND: This is required every year to determine the amount of money received from CalTrans, from the gasoline tax. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The information would not be accepted by the Board of Supervisors and the report could not be filed. (All Districts) Section 2121 of the Streets and Highways Code provides that in May of each year, each county shall submit to the State Department of Transportation any additions or exclusions from its mileage of maintained county roads, specifying the terminuses and mileage of each route added or excluded; and The State Department of Transportation certified to the State Controller on October 31,2004, that the total mileage of maintained county roads in Contra Costa County was 658.90. The County now finds that the total mileage of maintained county roads as of May 17,2005, is 661.16 miles. In previous years the Public Works Department has provided a summary of road mileage by supervisorial district as part of this road mileage revision. We are still in the process of updating our data to reflect the realigned supervisorial district boundaries. Upon completion of this, the Public Works Department will forward road mileage by supervisorial district to the Board Members.
