FISCAL IMPACT: The Health Services Department has estimated the cost associated with this request to be $134,369.88 which includes 37.79% of county paid benefits and $7,500 for medical benefits. The cost of this position is 100% revenue offset from the CCHP Long Term Integration Program. BACKGROUND: Currently, the Health Services Information Systems Unit has one full-time Database Administrator (DBA) to support the Department's data warehouse and in-house applications database design, development, and maintenance. However, with the continued growth of applications volume and complexity, one individual is unable to maintain the required schedule of design development and provide the optimal maintenance and ongoing database updates. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Failure to add the Database Administrator's position will result in an increased risk to system quality y q y assurance and reliability and increased risk in violating HIPPA security and confidentiality requirements.
