AND WISHING THE
SOUTHEAST ASIAN COMMUNITY
A HEALTHY" AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.
Whereas, Approximately 15,000 Laotians.currently.live in Contra Costa County; and
Whereas,Contra Costa County is home to the.hi Best number of Laotian families in the Bay Area.; and
Whereas, Lovvlandshos,K.hmu, 'I'aidam, Lue,Vietnamese, Mien, Hmong,'4nd Cambodians began
moving to Contra Costa County from Southeast Asia as refugees following the Vietnam War;
and
Whereas,After-years of living in the United States, Laotian families.bring a rich.cultural heritage to
Contra Costa County's ethnic diversity; and
Whereas There are more than 20 local organisations-working f —ifk t `Laotiah.
community;
and

NOW THEREFORE 13E IT RESOLVED,that tho Board of Contra Costa County
