SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to EXECUTE a contract with Ms. Linda Roval (#21-343-0) in the amount of$42,000 for support services to the Volunteer and Emergency Services Program, Central/East County, for the period April 1, 2005 through March 31, 2006 FINANCIAL IMPACT; $42,000 Administrative Overhead Costs: 20% County, 40% State, 40%Federal CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract supports all five of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 1) "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School"; 2) "Children andYouth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood"; 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing; and 5) "Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families"by assisting families in crisis situations and promoting self sufficiency. BACKGRO TND Ms. Roval will provide Season of Sharing(SOS) and support services to the Volunteer and Emergency Services Program, Central/East County. The Employment and Human Services Department's Volunteer and Emergency Services Program receives a grant from the San Francisco Chronicle Season of Sharing Program(SOS) Campaign which provides financial assistance to low income families and individuals in crisis assisting them with emergency housing,medical equipment, and furniture (i.e. baby cribs). The program goals are to remove barriers to employment, housing and other basic needs; maintain the family unit; and,promote self-sufficiency. The Volunteer and Emergency Services Program fundraises and obtains in-kind donatio s to provide emergency food, clothing, toys, and educational supplies, thereby minimizing he cn ` amities and individuals experience. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Pat Godley) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #23-326-3 with Aspira Technologies, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $180,000, to provide temporary Programmer/Analysts for the Department's Information Systems Unit, for the period from April 1, 2005 through March 31, 2006. FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this Contract is included in the Department's Enterprise I budget. BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): On March 9, 2004, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23-326-2 with Aspira Technologies, Inc. for the period from April 1, 2004 through March 31, 2005, for the provision of consultation and technical assistance to the Department with regard to designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing custom software applications. Approval of Contract #23-326-3 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through March 31, 2006. DenHerder, M.D., to provide Psychiatric services for the East County Child and Adolescent Mental Health Outpatient Clinic services for the period from March 1, 2004 through February 28, 2005.
