RONALD A. SAARI ON HIS RETIREMENT
FROM CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
WHEREAS Ronald A. Saari will retire on March 31St, 2005 from the position of Information Systems
Project Manager of Contra Costa County; and
WHEREAS Ron joined the Department cof Information Technology (DoIT) as an IS Project Manager
on February 3rd, 1986, where he earned':-a: xe station as a rovider Of outstanding service,

exemplary dedication, and innovative managernerit solutions; and
WHEREAS Ron consistently provided excellent support to the Human R:: §o:urces and Auditor's
department`s, and approached new-assignments with he same erthusiasr dedication, and
commitment that has made him an outstanding County employee-and role model for his peers;
and
WHEREAS Ron did an exemplary job-transforming the legacy mainr .e el/Payroll systems
to highly complex Human Resources/Payroll PeopleSoft Systems providing online payroll

WHEREAS Robert Bauer, Information Systems Programmer Analyst IV, began his career with

Contra Costa County on March:'"12° 5:::. :9:8 as a Programmer Analyst appointed to County
service to support the;Land Information Systems Permit Management System; and
WHEREAS in 1986 Bob'was transferred to the Human Services Business Unit to support the
automated Welfare systems; and
WHEREAS:.on February 1St, 1995 Bob was promoted to the position of Senior Program Analyst,
whereby he:'::became the lead support analyst for the Ease Data System; and
WHEREAS during a four-year timeframe from 1996 through 2000; Bob wasaeverl times,

HARRY O'NEAL ON HIS RETIREMENT
FROM CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
WHEREAS Harry O'Neal will retire effective March 31St, 2005 from the position of Information Systems
Program Analyst III of the Department of Information Technology(DoIT), where he has earned the
reputation of having the most hands-on experience and knowledge of the Land Information Systems; and
WHEREAS Harry joined the Systems Programming Business U it on October 22"d, 1984, where he provided
analysis and programming for the LandInformation System section;..and
WHEREAS Harry is one.off the original Land Information development'team which designed and implemented
the automation:of the.Assessor's department(AMS .assessor Maintenance System); and,
WHEREAS Harry earned`a promotion to the classification of Inforrriaton Systems Program Analyst III in May
of 1998; and,
WHEREAS'`Harry:participated on the Y2K'DoIT team which killfully reviewed every line of code in all of the
Land Information application programs,to ensure the Assessor's.application........uvould_be functioning on
January l st 2000; and,

WHEREAS`'Harry' Kno ledge of the Assessor's Maintenance.System allow.. ed him to plan..afid design program
interfaces wheli would eYabl otlier County departments; as well as outside agencies;to interact with
the.:data of the:assessor's 1�Iaintenance System; and .........
WHEREAS:Harry received multiple lettersof acknoleder froom his east+ mer'base for tke effort he put
towards the.."Close.of Roll"; he went beyond the fob ciu. outlined in his classification. This process is
the critical first:step nil the... pr+ pration of the annual property ax. Nand,
WHEREAS Harry`served as an excel lent mentor to Land Information Svstem team members who are assuming
his analytical support of the Land Information System; and
WHEREAS Harry performed his duties.: DoIT and the°County with a personal commitment to integrity and
honesty; is knowledgeable,:tenacious and dedicated;
NOW,THEREFORE,IT IS BY THE BOARD RESOLVED THAT Harry O'Neal be recognized for 20
years of dedicated service to Contra Costa County and for the quality work performed during his career.

ALAN SCHULZE ON HIS RETIREMENT
FROM CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
WHEREAS Alan Schulze,Administrative Services Officer for the Department of Information Technology
(DoIT), is retiring after completion of over 29 years of service to Contra Costa County, it is appropriate
to publicly recognize his professionalism and d'ed.cated service; and
WHEREAS Alan began hi career with Contra Costa County m April, 195 as an Administrative Analyst in the
Auditors Office; and

WHEREAS Alan advanced his career over the next 11 years'untl October 1986,when:he was promoted to
Administrative Services Officer for the Department of Information Technology; and
WHEREAS Alan has used his knowledge and experience to provide`outstanding service.and innovative
management solutions to develop a variety of programs to support tle administrative needs of the
Department; and ...........
WHEREAS Alan'has consistently provided e*cellent support to the empiloyee ofthe Department of
