HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03012005 - 2005 RES 90 1 IN THE MATTER OF RECOGNIZING RESOLUTION NO, 2005/90 DISTRICT 3 ARTS ORGANIZATION, THE ALAMO-DANVILLE ARTISTS' SOCIETY WHEREAS,Contra Costa County recognizes art passages: collections of art from contra costa county as an exhibition program designed to create an opportunity for artists to show their work to a larger public,to support the larger community's awareness of and familiarity with County artists, and to form relationships with regional art organizations.:andfo attract potential buyers for County artists' work; and WHEREAS,The Arts&Culture Commission of Contra Costa County co laborating with local artists who are members of the Alamo Daiw:ille Artists Society to pxesent their,art'.".,"; WHEREAS,The Alamo-Danville Artists' Society(ADAS) is composed of::artists and:.others for the purpose of enhancing the productivity of its members, and to promote the development and exhibition of visual fine arts in the San Ra"mori'Valley and surrounding areas;to cooperate with.:and COord(nate activities with other like organizations engaged in similar activities iii such:areas, inc lu►diilg colleges and schools, and in visual'arts departments; and _ WHEREAS,The:Alamo-Danville Artists' Society yearly donates 10%Of artist'sales to help artprograms in the local schools: In 2004 ADAS donated$7,000 to local school!,artprograms.
