SUBJECT: Termination of the Oakley/North Brentwood Area of Benefit Program
DATE: February 8, 2005
PAGE: 2 of 2
Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
On February 6, 1990,the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 90/107 and County Ordinance No. 90-10
establishing the Oakley/North Brentwood Area of Benefit to collect fees from development for construction projects
in the Oakley/North Brentwood area.
In November of 1998, local voters approved Oakley's incorporation and so created the City of Oakley, therefore
shifting the responsibility for the Oakley Area of Benefit boundary area from the County to the City of Oakley.
The City of Brentwood is now responsible for the North Brentwood area of the Oakley/North Brentwood Area of
Benefit. Therefore, the County Oakley/North Brentwood Area of Benefit fee program is no longer needed.
Approval of this board order will close the County Oakley/North Brentwood fee ordinance and program.
Consequences of Negative Action:
None.
