RECOGNIZING TRE
EMPLOYEES OF CONTR 4 COSTA COUNTY
AND THE 2004 "CONTRA CosTA COUNT F Cms"Ht?umYrooD DRIVE
WHEREAS, Contin Costa County departments and employees enthusiastically Mase to the challenge to raise funds
arul food for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solana during the 2004 holiday season and
WHEREAS, the 2"d Annual Contra Costa County Cares Challenge raised food and funds equivalent to 180,000
pounds offood;or 128%over its,goal of 140,000 pounsh,and
WHEREAS, the following departments and team leaders far exceeded their departmental goals o,f 15 pounds per
employee by astronomical percentages of their department goals:

WHEREAS, Contra Costa County challenged Solana County in a `Counties Care"duet, increasing the amount of
funds raised for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solana by at least$16,000,and
WHE17EAs, this impressive generosity will help the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solana in providing food to
over 84,000 low-income residents of Contra Costa and Solano counties throughout the months to come,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT`RESOL 1✓Eli that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa Caunty hereby applauds
the trophies awarded to the above-named depnmrents and congratulates all participating County departments and their
tireless leaders for their inspired efforts on behalf of their community and those in need;and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County tiranlas all County employees
and residents for participating in the 2004 Contra Costa County Cares Holiday Food Drive and urges all citizens of Contra
Costa County and their communities to recognize the merits and imperativeness of this cause and to give generously to the
Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano throughout the year to come, including the 2005 Contra Costa County Cants holiday
Food Drive.
