FISCAL IMPACT � The General Services Department will sand in a P-300 to cancel a Lead Materials Technician position when. the Supply and Distribution Supervisor position is filled. Therefore, there will be no additional: County costs associated with this action. This action will result in a net savings of salary costs of $864 per month and annual savings of$10,368. BACKGROUND Currently the Materials Operation supports the Facilities Maintenance and>Fleet Management Divisions. The above changes will allow for the expansion of the Materials Operation to provide centralized support for more General Services Divisions. This centralized support will reduce costs by improving purchasing practices and providing better management of inventory. It will also provide consistency in processing requisitions,obtaining price quotes, and purchasing practices.
