JOHN SWEETEN, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. , By Deputy Clerk ��57A CCf In the Matter of Resolution No. 20041212 RECOGNITION OF THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY FAIR JUNE 3 -JUNE 612004 WHEREAS, the residents of Contra Costa County will be celebrating the 69'h Annual Contra Costa County Fair June 3—June 6, 2004 at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds in Antioch with the theme this year being "A Horse of Different Color"; and WHEREAS, the City of Antioch will be hosting the 23rd District Agricultural Association, whose mission is to promote and showcase Contra Costa County's agricultural, commerce, recreation, education and arts programs; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Fair will have exhibits of Flower and Garden, Backyard Farmer, Home Arts, Fine Arts&Photography, Junior Exhibits, and Livestock, and WHEREAS, entertainment will be provided for this year's fair by The Diamonds, Molly Hatchet, Hypnosis Show, Smokin'Armadillos and Red With Envy to name afew; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, California, does hereby proclaim its support and appreciation to all organizers and participants of the 2004 Contra Costa County Fair and also urges all citizens of Contra Costa County and their communities to enjoy the wholesome atmosphere of the Contra Costa County Fair and celebrate the County's agricultural history and future. Glover r RESOL UTION PR OCLAI.ri ING RESOLUTION NO. 20041278 THE WEEK OF,JUNE 5 TO JUNE 13, 2004 AS AFFORDABLE HOUSING HEEK WHEREAS, decent, safe and affordable housing is one of the basic necessities of life and is of vital importance to the health and well-being of all residents of Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS, thousands of residents in Contra Costa County live in overcrowded, substandard and otherwise inadequate housing and hundreds of thousands more are paying over 30%of their income for housing and are at significant risk of losing their housing and becoming homeless; and WHEREAS, thousands of units of affordable housing have been built by non-profit developers and others in Contra Costa County. These units of affordable housing are well-managed, well-maintained and have contributed significantly to neighborhoods throughout Contra Costa; and WHEREAS, The Association of Homeless and Housing Service Providers and East.Bay Housing Organizations have organized events during Affordable Housing Week to acknowledge the need for and contributions of affordable housing.
