AIRPORT LAND USE COMPATIBILITY PLAN
Dear Mr. Roche,
On April 14, 20034 the Airport Land Use Commission held a public hearing on the
reconsideration requested by Contra Costa County to find the proposed rezoning of
private property within the B-2 categories under the Byron Airport Policies of the Airport
Land Use Compatibility flan to no longer be necessary to conform to the adopted
December 2000 Compatibility Plan. County staff prepared a report that indicates new
information has been published in the 2002 California Airport Handbook that was not
available at the time and preparation of the existing Contra Costa.County Airport sand
Use Compatibility Plan..
On a unanimous vote the Airport Land Use Commission has made the decision to
consider your request and is requesting that the County recommend a continuance of this
Board Order to the Board of Supervisors until June 15, 2004 to allow the Airport Land
Use Commission and staff an opportunity to review the updated and new information that
was presented by County staff. The Airport Land Use Commission during this extension
of time will also consider the possibilities of amending the adopted December 2000
Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan on a consolidated effort with both the Byron
Airport Master Plan and the 2002 California Airport Handbook,
