SPECIFIC REQUESTIS3 OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECQMMENDATIQNN: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand) to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #24--936-7 with. Resource Development Associates, Inc., a corporation, effective April 1, 2004, to amend Contract#24--936-6 to increase the Contract payment limit by $23,400, from 51.8,750 to a new total of$42,150, and extend the Contract term from July 31, 2004 through December 31, 2004. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 44%by Federal Spirit of Caring funds and 56%by a Grant from the Stuart Foundation. BACKGRQtJND/REAS0N S FOR RECOMMENDATION S : In August 2003,the County Administrator approved, and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #24-936-6 with Resource Development Associates, Inc. for the period from July 1, 2003 through June 30, 2404, for the provision of consultation and technical assistance to the Department with regard to implementation of the Federal California Institute of Mental Health(CIMH) grant. Approval of Contract Amendment/Extension Agreement #24-936-7 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services, including technical assistance to the Department with regard to the Division's Information System and Family Data Archive,through December 31, 2004. RACKGR01 TND ZR SQNS�_E For many years the County has contracted with registries to provide temporary qualified personnel to assist the Department during peak work loads, temporary absences and emergency situations. On June 24, 2003, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-352.6 with Delta Personnel Services (dba Guardian Security Agency), for the period from May 1, 2003 through April 30, 2004, to provide uniformed security officers to safeguard property, equipment and persons, prepare reports, conduct visual checks of area in and around suites, and monitor and respond, at the request of staff, to control unauthorized visitors at various County sites. BACKCIRCH TND3FASQN4 FQR RW -HM(S): The purpose of this agreement is to provide physical therapy students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with application skills and attitudes at progressively higher levels of performance requirements and responsibility. Supervised field work experience in physical therapy is considered to be an integral part of both the educational and professional preparation. As a teaching hospital, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and the Contra Costa Health Centers can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students`services to patients. On May 22, 2001,the Board of Supervisors approved Contract#26211w3 with the Regents of the University of California on behalf of University of California, San Francisco for the period from June 1, 2001 through May 31, 2004. Approval of Unpaid Student Training Agreement#26211-4 will allow University of California, San Francisco students to continue to receive field instruction and experience in physical therapy at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and the Contra Costa Health Centers through May 31, 2007. FINA:'SCIAL.IMPACT: This contract is funded through administrative portions of State and federal grants. Funding for this contract is included in the Community Services Department's FY 2004-05 Budget. There is no net County cost to this contract. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Community Services Department Child Development Division supports two of Contra Costa County's community outcomes: "Children Ready for and Succeeding in School" and "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing." These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: Contractor shall provide computer technician and network support services for the Contra Costa County Community Services Department. Services will include but will not be limited to LAN/WAN maintenance and support, computer and hardware/software upgrade installations, training, computer and network inventory, staff network and computer application support. Approval of this contract will allow for continued computer technician and network support services.
