project, and a copy of the expenditure criteria established by California lam for the Fish grid° ildl f
Propagation Fund. In the fa;i of 2003, application packet swrseat to the Fish and Wliiiffe
Committee mai ing lists and to anyone who requested one. In addition,theywere distributed to more
than 300 people who attended the Contra Costa County Creek rid � aters ed Syrriposiurr. in
November of2003, a press release was issued on the availability of funding for `i n and wildlife
projects.A to f v riding applications were received during the application period,which ended
rn'D r 31. 2333. The Fish and Wi'd fe Committee dis-;;sled the funding anoflcation at its
.�a uaiiy and February 2033 meetings. Some applicants were invited to the February meeting to
answer gUestions that were rased by tie lnWC members.
T he amount of funds currently in the Nish and Wiidlife Frgpagation Fund is much larger at present
than in years past. The increase may be patchily due to Increased awareness arnong agencies
enforcing°st` and gene r gu,a'Jons th,at the Fish and Wildlife Propagation Fund is an appropriate
account to deposit fine momes resulting from negotiated settlements of r gu.a lot violations,
On February 13,2004 the Fish and Wildlife ommittee approved the following recommend flans to
the Board ofSupervisors regarding applications for funding from the F sl and W'Idiife Propagation:
