SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
1. EXERCISE the first option for a five-year extension of the Lease dated December 1, 1998 with
City of San Pablo for the premises at 2300 EI Portal Drive, Suite B, San Pablo, for continued
occupancy by the Employment and Human Services Department, under the terms and
conditions more particularly set forth in the Lease.
2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to EXERCISE any options to extend
the Lease.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The exercise of the first option was anticipated and funds will be budgeted by the Employment and
Human Services Department in FY 200412005. The first option is for a term of five years, effective
July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2009. The rental rate for the entire five year term is $8,162 per month,
an increase of$872 per month over the previous rate.
BACKGROUND
The County has leased the premises, which consist of 5,830 rentable square feet, since July, 1999
for use as a One Stop Employment Center. The Lease provides for two additional five-year
extensions through June 30, 2019.
