FISCAL IMPACT None, no general funds are involved. The application would reflect an approximately$23,000 match of future Montalvin Manor redevelopment funds. BACKGROUND The Redevelopment Agency recently undertook a Transportation and Access Community Planning initiative in Montalvin Manor. A high priority that emerged from this process was enhancing access to Montalvin Elementary School. The Safe Routes to School request of approximately $229,000 includes traffic calming measures on Christine Drive, the current street from which the school is accessed, as well as enhanced access from a new pedestrian connection directly from Kay Road. The project would be a partnership of the Agency and the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
