SUBJECT: HOUSING AUTHORITY INSURANCE
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
1. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ACCEPT information regarding the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa's insurance
for coverage period June 1, 2003 through May 31, 2004.

Ill. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE
California Housing Authority Risk Management Agency (CHARMA), a Joint Powers Agreement,
carries the general liability insurance for the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa. The
Housing Authority has a $250,000 per occurrence limit and a $1,000,000 annual aggregate with a
$50,000 Self-insured Retention (SIR) through CHARMA. Excess insurance from $250,001 to $5,000,000
and an additional $5,000,000 in excess of$5,000,000 is carried through H'ous'ing Authorities Risk
Retention Group (HARRG). Carl Warren & Co. is the third party administrator (TPA) for our general
liability.
PUBLIC OFFICIALS' LIABILITY
Public Officials Liability is carried through CHARMA, with a $250,000 per occurrence and
$1,000,000 in the aggregate for all occurrences. The Housing Authority has a $50,000 Self-insured
Retention (SIR) through CHARMA.
