FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 92.9%n by Federal funds and 7.1%by County CRIT funds.. BACKGROUND/REASON(S)FOR RECOMMENDATION(S): , In May 2003, the County Administrator approved, and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #74-203 with Center for Applied Local Research for the period from March 1, 2003 through June 30, 2003,for the provision of grant writing services for the Department. The Sixth Amendment increases the scope of services and increases the Payment Limit from $617,188 to $639,368. 2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to execute the Sixth Amendment to the consulting services agreement and to issue written authorizations for extra work, in addition to the authorization for the Sixth Amendment, provided that the cumulative total cost for all such authorizations shall not exceed $25,000. FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds are budgeted in the Plant Acquisition to pay for the additional architectural services. BACKGROUND On August 17, 1999 the Board of Supervisors approved and authorized the Director of General Services to execute a Consulting Services Agreement with George Miers & Associates to provide design services for a New Animal Control Facility in Martinez. The First Amendment increased the scope of services to provide additional architectural design services relating to the Pinole Animal Services Facility. The Second Amendment increased the scope of services to provide architectural and mechanical design services for a reclaimed water system. Effective Date and Parties: Effective June 10,2003, George Miers&Associates(herein called"Consultant"),a California Corporation, and the County of Contraasta( erein called"County") a political subdivision of the State of California,mutually agree as follows: 2. Purpose: On August 17, 1999,the parties entered into a contract entitled"Consulting Services Agreement,"referred to as the"Agreement,"which covers full design and construction observation services for a New Animal Control Facility in Martinez.. The Agreement has previously been amended as follows: First Amendment dated March 1, 2000, Second Amendment dated March 7, 2001, Third Amendment dated September 11, 2001, Fourth Amendment dated September 6, 2001, and Fifth Amendment dated October 8, 2001. The parties desire to further amend the Agreement to expand the scope of service and to increase the payment limit accordingly. 3. Amendments to Agreement: A. In the Agreement, Section 1(c),change the Payment Limit from$617,188.00 to$639,368.00, an increase of$22,180.00. This change shall apply to charges from and after May 12,2003 B. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services, or designee, to execute the First Amendment to the Consulting Services Agreement and to issue written authorizations for extra work provided that the cumulative total extra cost for all such authorizations shall not exceed $10,000. FINANCIAL IMPACT The project will be funded with proceeds from 2003 Series A Lease Revenue Bonds. BACKGROUND On February 25, 2003, the Director of General Services executed a Consulting Services Agreement with Interactive Resources, Inc. to upgrade HVAC equipment for County facilities located at 30 and 40 Muir Road, Martinez, currently occupied by the Employment and Human Services Department. The First Amendment increases the scope of services to provide architectural, structural, mechanical and electricalconsultant services to upgrade the electrical service to both office buildings located at 30 and 40 Muir Road, Martinez. Included in additional services is the engineering of a new electrical service and main switchboard at 40 Muir Road, lighting replacement, Title 24 calculations, switchgear modifications, transformer and switchgear pads with exterior enclosure drawings.
