C:HIZ,1►I2ES IMPACT S'iATEMENE This contract supports three of the five community outcomes established in the Children's Report Card: 3) "Families that are Economically Self Sufficient"; 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing", and 5) ":Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". BACKGROUND_ Candace Kunz Tao, hired from a competitive procurement.. Request for Interest (RFI) #177 in 2002, provides mental health status evaluations (MSE) of General Assistance (GA) applicants or recipients who have the Brief Symptom Inventory and whose resulting scores merit personal interviews for assessment of mental disability. Since 2000, Ms. Tao has also provided substance abuse counselor (SAC) services for Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) GA applicants or recipients. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and has certification in Addiction Studies, Ms. Tao will provide MSE and SAC assessments to EHSD GA clients countywide. Kuehn, for the period from November 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003 , to provide services as the Wellness Recovery Educator for the Department ' s Mental Health Adults Services. Under Contract #74-123-4 , Contractor will provide consultation and technical assistance to the Department, including, but not limited to research and development of job opportunities for consumers, act as liaison on behalf of the County between California State University Hayward, and assist in implementing a Recovery Vision Program and training program for community providers, through June 30, 2004 .
