This is a great thing but unfortunately I will no longer qualify as a tenant commissioner and so I must resign as of April 30, 2003. Being an advisory commissioner in Contra Costa County for over 12 years has been a wonderful experience. I applied as a commissioner because I wanted to give something back to my county but I received even more. When I became involved I learned how meetings are run as well as how Contra Costa County networks with others to continue to build, renovate and lift people until they can become self sufficient. Thanks to the support of The Housing Authority I have been able to pay a rent that was affordable to me and live in a safe and clean apartment for many years while my two children were small. At the same time I had the ability to go to Diablo Valley College where I have earnedover 100 units of credit. This has helped me to become more confident in myself and to give Ime the skills I need to earn my own way. For all of this I want to thank you. Sincerely, s Julie's 4edina
