The �Doard ofSn er isors of Contra Costa County, Caliomia In the matter of volunteers in the County Departments as recognition and praise for their efforts RESOLUTION NO. 2003/257 WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors recognizes that volunteers are of special importance to the citizens of Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS,the Animal Services Department had 15,867 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS,the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center had 24,306 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa Friends of the Library had 40,959 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS, the Project Second Chance program of the Library had 9,627 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS,the Contra Costa County Library Volunteer Program had 38,229 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS, the Volunteers for Juvenile Hall had 4,350 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Probation Department had 3,037 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2003; and WHEREAS, the Sheriff-Coroner's Department had 47,158 volunteer hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS,the Employment and Human Services Department had 86,011 hours used to provide services during 2002; and WHEREAS, these was a combined total of 277,544 volunteer hours provided during 2002. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County recognizes and praises the aforementioned programs and departments for their selfless efforts and outstanding spirit for securing this high amount of volunteer hours in Contra Costa County. JOHN SWEETEN, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors anM4ifta � epuis Clerk Introduced by Chairman Mark DeSaulnier, District IV � qq �f In the Matter of Recognizing } The contributions of Gayle Muggli ) RESOLUTION NO.2003/258 On the occasion of her retirement ) WHEREAS Gayle Muggli began her career with Contra Costa County on July 5,1972,as an entry-level secretary in the typing pool in the Social Services Department,and WHEREAS,Gayle's skills resulted in prompt promotions and positions of considerable responsibility, and, in 1976, Gayle became a Supervising Clerk in the Health Services Department, supervising clerical operations in the Pittsburg,Antioch Mental Health,and Oakley Clinics,and WHEREAS, Gayle transferred to the District Attorney's Office in 1981 as the Office Manager of the Concord Branch,covering the Mt.Diablo Delta,and Walnut Creek-Danville Municipal Court operations,later serving as Office Manager of the Martinez,Richmond,and(again)Concord Branches,and WHEREAS,Gayle became the Office Manager of the County Counsel's Office in 1994,where she acted as Budget Officer,Fiscal and Accounting Officer,Personnel Officer,Clerical Supervisor,Systems Administrator,and In,many other functions;and WHEREAS,Gayle has served as a key employee during much of her career and has mastered the skills of atop-duality manager,and has carried out her duties with superlative energy,dedication,and loyalty,and WHEREAS, Gayle's knowledge of the County processes and public law office needs enabled her to accomplish outstandingresults and be recognized statewide by her peers as an invaluable source of information. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County recognizes and honors Gayle Muggli,on the occasion of her retirement,for her 31 years of dedicated and exemplary service to the County and to the people of the County.
