SUBJECT: Temporary Parking Lot for BART Patrons, Pleasant Hill BART Station Vicinity
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Redevelopment Director to execute a second Amendment to a
contract with RBF Consulting, to increase the payment limit by$110,000 to a new payment limit not to
exceed $190,000 for expanded scope relative to the final design, construction engineering/inspection
and related services through December 31, 2003, in support of construction of the BART patron
temporary parking lot on the former Las Juntas Swim Club site.
FISCAL IMPACT
No General funds are involved. Redevelopment Agency funds are budgeted for this purpose. BART
will reimburse the Agency for costs associated with installation of the temporary parking lot.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
The Redevelopment Agency has secured a Land Use Permit from the City of Walnut Creek to install a
temporary parking lot on the former Las Juntas Swim Club site, which the Agency now owns. The temporary
use was approved by the City of Walnut Creek for a five-year period, after which the property is expected to
convert to a residential use, with an affordable housing component. In order for the temporary parking lot
construction to occur in conjunction with the Greenspace project the additional scop of services is required at
this time.
