GILBERT, DIRECTOR OF GENERAL SERVICES' 4 C3STA' DATE: MARCH 19, 2002 COUNTY SUBJECT: LEASE FOR THE SHERIFF-CORONER AT 816 MARINA VISTA, SUITE E, MARTINEZ (CP ##02-04) (WLP478)> SPECIFIC REOUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION= 1. APPROVE a Lease, commencing April 1, 2002, with William A. Evans Revocable Trust for the premises at 815 Marina Vista, Suite E, Martinez, for occupancy by the Sheriff-Coroner, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in the Lease. 2. AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services to execute the Lease on behalf of the County. 3. DETERMINE that the projectis a Class 1(a) categorical exemption under the California Environmental'Quality Act (CEQA). 4. DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk, and DIRECT the Director of General Services to arrange for the payment of the handling fees to the Community Development Department and County Clerk for filing of the Notice of Exemption. FINANCIAL. IMPACT The impact to the current fiscal year is $5,400.00 lease rent payments for the 3 month period from April 1, 2002 through June 30, 2002. The lease rent payments and tenant improvement costs of approximately$4,000.00 are to come from the Sheriff:Coroner's budget. BAC G_ROUNU Approval of the lease will provide office space for the background investigation division.
