SUBJECT: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute a Consulting
Services Agreement with Chris Hallford to work with the GIS Coordinator to
define features and attributes and relationships for a varied set of GIS layers
scheduled to be developed with the use of GPS data collection equipment.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute a Consulting Services
Agreement identified below:
Service Contract with Chris Hallford for the amount of $50,000. The service contract term is
from June 1, 2001 to June 1, 2002.
If. Financial Impact:
No financial impact to the General Fund monies. The cost to be funded by the Flood Control
District Funds.

III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
To assist the Flood Control division with development of GIS layers, Databases and data
collection efforts. Set up and coordinate field data collectors and summer workers. Data
validation and map production efforts.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
Delays in GIS production. Possible derailment of current GIS efforts.
