SUBJECT: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute a Consulting
Services Agreement with Dorothy Kennedy to assist Public Works with support of
CAD systems and maintenance and GIS development work.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute a Consulting Services
Agreement identified below:
Service Contract with Dorothy Kennedy for the amount of $40,000. The service contract term
is from May 16, 2001 to May 16, 2002.
II. Financial Impact:
No financial impact to the General Fund monies. The cost to be funded by the Road Funds
and Flood Control District Funds.

III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
Public Works utilizes a large number of CAD workstations and CAD software. These require
support to ensure that they are working properly and functioning as part of our network. Also,
we have a number of GIS related conversion efforts going on which we need assistance with.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
Would cause delays in GIS and CAD projects and reduce quality of products.
