Consulting Service Agreement with Sanders and Associates Geostructural
Engineering, a Small Business Enterprise in the amount of $27,501, to

I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute the
Consulting Service Agreement with Sanders and Associates Geostructural
Engineering, a Small Business Enterprise in the amount of$27,501, to provide
design services, for the Christie Road Erosion Repair Project, in the Hercules
Area.

II. Financiallmpact:
The estimated contract cost of the project is (70% Federal Emergency Management
Agency, Damage Site Report #7559, 20% State, 10% Local Road Funds.)
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The project is needed to stabilize the erosion of soil along the edge of Christie
Road. We require the services of a geotechnical expert to design a soil nail wall
which has been deemed the best alternative to stabilize the erosion area.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
If the project is not approved for Design, it will not be constructed this year.
