SUBJECT: Approval of Contract #23-274-2 with
ECHO Consulting Services of California, Inc .
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION(S) :
Approve and authorize the Health Services Director to execute on
behalf of the County, Contract #23-274-2 with ECHO Consulting
Services of California, Inc. , in an amount not to exceed $186, 000,
to provide a hardware and software maintenance agreement supporting
the Department ' s Mental Health and Community Substance Abuse
Services Divisions, for the period from July 1, 2001 through June
30, 2002 .
FISCAL IMPACT•
Funding . for this Contract is included in the Department ' s Mental
Health budget, and is funded by a combination of Federal Medi-Cal ,
grants, and third party revenue . No County cost .
BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) :
The Health Services Department originally purchased a license from
PSP Information Group, for Behavioral Healthcare software in 1989 .
ECHO Consulting Services of California, Inc . , is the sole provider
of support services for this software.
On May 23 , 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract
#23-274-1 with ECHO Consulting Services of California, Inc . , to
provide a hardware and software maintenance agreement supporting the
Department ' s Mental Health and Community Substance Abuse Services
Divisions, for the period from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001 .
Approval of Contract #23-274-2 will allow the Contractor to continue
providing services through June 30, 2002 .
