HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06192001 - C.45 1 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this order on Trina 19 ?nnl by the following vote: i AYES: SUPERVISOR GIOIA, GERBER, GLOVER and UILKEMA I NOES: NONE I ABSENT: SUPERVIOSR DESAULNIER ABSTAIN: NONE SUBJECT: In the Matter of Adjusting Compensation Resolution No. 2001/248 for Eligible Represented Project Employees in the Community Services Department Commencing July 1, 2001 I WHEREAS the Community Services Director has advised the Office of the County Administrator that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the California Department of Education have provided for a Cost of Living increase to all eligible Represented Project employees in the Community Services Department effective July 1, 2001. I WHEREAS the County met and conferred with the Contra Costa County Employees Association, Local #1, which represents the non-management classes listed below. Now therefore, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as Governing Board of the County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officio Governing Board, RESOLVES THAT: I A) Effective July 1, 2001, the Family and Children's Services (FACS) represented classifications listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 4%: I Classification Class Code Community Services Accounting Assistant-Project 9JV7 Community Services Building Services Worker-Project 9KV8 Community Services Secretary-Project 9JT1 FACS Beginning Clerk-Project 9KV9 FACS Intermediate Clerk-Project 99J3 FACS Senior Clerk-Project 9KT7 FACS Teacher Assistant-Project 9MW2 FACS Teacher Assistant-Project-Substitute 99V6 FACS Head Teacher-Project 9MH4 FACS Teacher I-Project 9MW 1 FACS Teacher II-Project 9MV1 FACS Teacher Assistant Trainee-Project 9MW9 1 B) Effective July 1, 2001, the Family and Children's Services (FACS) represented classifications listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 1.2%: i Classification Class Code FACS Associate Teacher-Project ! 9MV2 FACS Associate Teacher-Project-Substitute 99V4 FACS Infant/Toddler Teacher-Project 9MH6 FACS Infant/Toddler Associate Teacher-Project 9MV3 FACS Teacher-Project 9MH5 FACS Teacher-Project-Substitute 1 9HS9 I I I I i C) Effective July 1, 2001, the Family and Children's Services (FACS) represented classifications listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 8%: Classification Class Code Child Nutrition Food Services Assistant-Project 98V 1 Child Nutrition Worker III-Project 98G2 Child Nutrition Worker II-Project 98G I Child Nutrition Worker I-Project 98W1 Child Nutrition Worker I-Project-Substitute 98W3 Child Nutrition Food Services Transporter-Project 98W2 I D) Effective July 1, 2001, the Family and Children's Services (FACS) represented classifications listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 1.0%: Classification Class Code FACS Home Base Worker-Project 9MW4 E) Effective July 1, 2001, the! Family and Children's Services (FACS) represented classifications listed below will be adjusted upward on the County salary schedule by 10%: Classification Class Code FACS Family Advocate-Project 9MW3 F) Effective July 1, 2001, abolish the class of Family and Children's Services (FACS) Recruitment/Enrollment Services Worker-Project (9MW5) and reallocate the positions and incumbents thereof to the class of Family and Children's Services (FACS) Intermediate Clerk-Project (99J3). G) Lump Sum Payment: Alli persons who occupy a position in any of the above classifications on July 1, 2001, shall be eligible to receive the salary scale adjustments listed above. If for any reason, the salary adjustments are not implemented on July 1, 2001, all persons eligible to receive the salary scale adjustments will be retroactively compensated back to July 1, 2001, from the date of payment. In lieu of a retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation processing back to July 1, 2001, the County will make a lump sum payment to each employee for the period from July 1, 2001, through the date of payment, computed as follows: Employee regular pay, overtime pay, and specific other earnings ordinarily computed as a percentage of base pay will be added together for each applicable pay period to determine the Lump Sum Base Payment. This base will be multiplied by the designated percent (%). The payment amount, thus computed, will be added to� the employee's next paycheck where it will be listed separately as a LUMP SUM PAYMENT and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction requirements. Any employee believing there is an underpayment resulting from this methodology exceeding $30.00 may contactithe Community Services Department. The Auditor's office will investigate and issue the additional pay, if owed, as soon as possible. I hereby certify that this is a true and correct Orig.
