Barry, AICP Community Development Director DATE: May 8, 2001 SUBJECT: CARRY FORWARD UNEXPENDED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS AUTHORIZE the Deputy Director — Redevelopment or his designee to carry forward unexpended Community Development Block Grant(CDBG)funds of$142,489 from program years 1995/96 through 2000/01 as listed in Attachment A to program year 2001/02. FISCAL IMPACT No General Funds are involved. All funds are from prior year allocations from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS For a variety of reasons such as, completion of project under budget, or projects that proved infeasible, previously allocated CDBG funds were not expended and need to be carried forward for use. Staff has identified 24 projects that fall into this category. The carryover funds will be added to the FY 2001/02 annual allocation of CDBG funds for FY 2001/02 projects.
