HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05012001 - C.10 The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County In the Matter of Resolution No. 2001/173 WELCOMING THE CALIFORNIA STATE BOWLING ASSOCIATION STATE TOURNAMENT TO CONTRA COSTA COUNTY WHEREAS, the California State Bowling Association will hold their 56`.h California State Bowling Championship Tournament for sixteen consecutive weekends beginning on May 4, 2001 in Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS, the Association has chosen Delta Bowl in Antioch and Diablo Lanes in Concord to hold their Tournament; and WHEREAS, this Tournament is the largest State Bowling Tournament in the country, as over nine thousand bowlers will participate for a prize fund of$180,000; and WHEREAS, bowling is truly a family sport, that can be enjoyed by people of all ages; this event will attract approximately twenty thousand visitors to our County; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County recognizes the significant influence achieved by associations such as the California State Bowling Association, which are able to channel the energies and enthusiasm of so many people of all ages. NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, hereby extends greetings, high scores and best wishes for a successful tournament and urge all citizens to support and thank the California State Bowling Association for bringing this Tournament to our community.
