On this date, the Board of Supervisors adjourned in honor of the memory of Frank Tiscareno.
Mr. Tiscareno was an Oakley resident and a Pittsburg native. He served the residents of
Pittsburg for 24 years as a police officer, retired as a Sergeant and was instructor to the 77`x'
Police Academy. He also served in the U.S. Army and was an active member of the Veterans of
Forgein Wars-John McMurry Post.

Frank R. Tiscareno
Frank R.Tiscareno,a 12 year
Oakley resident and Pittsburg native,
passed away Wednesday, April 25;
2001. He was 67 years young. Dedi- .
cated to community, Frank actively
served the residents of Pittsburg f4r-24 i
years as a police officer(retired-Sgt:):::
While an officer, he earned an A.A.
degree from Diablo Valley College, a.
B.A. from CSU, Sacramento and a
Police Science teaching credential
from UC Berkeley. Committed to edu-
cation, he served asinstructor to the
77th Police Academy.
Frank. served in the U.S. 'Army
(1956-1958).He was an active mem-.
ber of the Veterans of Foreign Wars-'
John McCurry Post, the American Le
gion(San Francisco),and an honorary
member of the 101st Airborne. Frank.
was an avid military historian, he
wrote over 350 poems commemorat-
ing military events and the lives of
courageous service men and women of.
all nationalities. Frank's scholarly
reading and many travels abroad in-
spired his creative work.A prolific pho-
tographer, Frank leaves his family col-
orful images by which to remember
him.His eclectic taste in music ranged _
from Dvorak to musical theater.
Frank leaves behind a large, loving
family to celebrate his life; wife Linda
Tiscareno, daughter Sheena Beck;
sons James and Alan Tiscareno; step=
sons James and Christopher Carranza;
sisters Sally Gomez and Beatrice
Ochoa; brothers Ernie and Joe Tiscar-'
eno. His parents Jose and Nellie Tis-
careno preceded him in death. Grand-
children Michael and Jimmy
Tiscareno, Olivia Beck, and Elijah and
Cassidy Carranza miss their storyteller,
accomplice ( to numerous.:shenani-
gans),and enthusiastiCplaymate`'.
All services will be held'at-Church--of
the Good Shepherd in Pittsburg:=Visi-
tation will be held Tuesday, May 1,
2001 from 2:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m.at
the church. The Vigil Service will be
held Tuesday, May.1, 2001 at 7:00
p.m.and the Funeral Mass will be held
Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at 9:30
a.m. at Church. Burial will be at Bren-
twood Union Cemetery, Brentwood,
CA. Donations may be made to your
favorite Veterans Association.
