RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING RESOLUTION NO. 20OV189
MAY 14-20, 2001 AS ELDER LAW
WEEK IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY
WHEREAS, the California Department of Aging has declared May to be Older Americans Month
which is dedicated to actions supporting the well-being of our senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, a professional association concerned
with improving the availability and delivery of legal services to older Americans, has declared May to
be National Elder Law Month; and
WHEREAS, Contra Costa Senior Legal Services, a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing
free legal services for the elderly of Contra Costa County, has joined in the effort to raise awareness of
the importance of legal services for low income seniors; and
WHEREAS,Contra Costa Senior Legal Services will be expanding its services to Contra Costa
County seniors during the week of May 14-20, 2001 as Elder Law Week.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County
does hereby proclaim May 14-20, 2001 as Elder Law Week.
Passed by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors present this 15`h day of May 2001.
