BACKGROUND: Ms. Steffen will fill the position vacated by former at-large member Mary Lou Lucas. Ms. Steffen has served several years in prominent positions of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) where she has gained a wealth of knowledge regarding the social and educational needs of children and the needs and limitations of government. The Committee believes Ms. Steffen's experience with the schools, government and numerous volunteer and advisory positions will provide a valuable prospective to the committee.
