SUBJECT: ACCEPT the recommendation of the Family and Children's Trust Committee (FACT) to
appoint Ms. Brenda Steffen to an at-large position on the Committee for a term ending
September 30, 2002.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
!RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ACCEPT the recommendation of the Family and Children's Trust Committee (FACT) to appoint Ms. Brenda
Steffen to an at-large position on the Committee for a term ending September 30, 2002.
BACKGROUND:
Ms. Steffen will fill the position vacated by former at-large member Mary Lou Lucas. Ms. Steffen has served
several years in prominent positions of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) where she has gained a wealth of
knowledge regarding the social and educational needs of children and the needs and limitations of government.
The Committee believes Ms. Steffen's experience with the schools, government and numerous volunteer and
advisory positions will provide a valuable prospective to the committee.
