HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04032001 - C.20 o C17 RESOLUTION HONORING RESOLUTION NO. 2001/130 BERNICE HARRIS FOR HER 34 YEARS OF SERVICE TO CONTRA COSTA COUNTY WHEREAS, BERNICE HARRIS began working for Contra Costa County on November 18, 1966. She was hired into the newly created Economic Opportunity Community Aide position and earned $376.00 per month; and WHEREAS, BERNICE HARRIS was quickly promoted throughout the next ten years and was working as a Social Worker in May of 1980. In 1981 due to budget cuts,Bernice accepted a demotion; and WHEREAS, BERNICE HARRIS continued to maintain her positive attitude and confident expertise. Her supervisors declared her an asset and a joy to work with,by 1987 she was reinstated as a Social Worker; and WHEREAS, BERNICE HARRIS has routinely donated her own vacation and floating hours to the Catastrophic or General Fund for anyone experiencing a catastrophic situation in their lives. Bernice has always volunteered to help the most difficult clients; she retained enthusiasm for her job and always has a willing attitude. WHEREAS, BERNICE HARRIS provides a balance of wisdom and the ability to laugh, she will be dearly missed by all of those who interact with her. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby wish C14 Passed by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors present this 3rd day of April 2001.
