John Sweeten,Clerk of the Board o Supervisors and County Administra or STATE OF CALIFORNIA—HEALTH AND WELFARE AGENCY __ __ _ GRAY DAVIS, Govemor DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES 744 P Street, Sacramento; CA 95814 February 2, 2001 COUNTY FISCAL LETTER (CFL) NO. 00/01-59 TO: COUNTY WELFARE DIRECTORS COUNTY FISCAL OFFICERS COUNTY PROBATION OFFICERS INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM COORDINATORS SUBJECT: PLANNING AUGMENTATION FOR THE INDEPENDENT LIVING PROGRAM (ILP) FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000/01 REFERENCE: CFL NO. 00/01-15 (dated July 17", 2000) The purpose of this CFL is to provide the counties with a planning augmentation of$6,265,000 in Federal funds to their State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2000/01 ILP allocation. The additional Federal funds are expected to be available due to a supplemental Federal Fiscal Year 2000 Chafee Foster Care Grant, which was awarded to the State of California. The attachment displays the planning augmentation of$6,265,000 added to the original ILP allocation of$34,521,000 in State and Federal Funds for a total of $40,786,000 in State and Federal funds. The final augmentation allocation will be mailed following Legislative approval of the appropriate budget documents. The additional Federal funds will be distributed based upon each county's proportionate share of the total Foster Care cases, age 15.5 years and over as reported by counties for calendar year 1999 on the Medi-Cal Eligibility Determination System. Please refer to CFL NO. 00/01-15 for additional claiming information. Questions regarding this allocation should be directed to your county analyst in the County Financial Analysis Bureau at (916) 657-3806.
