No.: 0662-6R4043 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: APPROVE the Reimbursement Agreement between Contra Costa County and Reclamation District No. 799 (RD 799) for processing costs to prepare a permit for the County to perform soil borings and build a new bridge structure on Bethel Island Road onto the island. AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to sign the Reimbursement Agreement on behalf of Contra Costa County. No.: 0662-6R4043 DATE: April 24, 2001 PAGE 2 II. Financial Impact: Reimburse RD 799 for their charges to process the bridge permits funded by 80% Federal Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation funds, and 20% Road funds. The total amount paid to RD 799 will not exceed $20,000 without prior written approval by the County. III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The County has been granted Federal funds to replace the Bethel Island Road Bridge. In order to replace the bridge, the County will need to obtain a permit from RD 799 for work on the southern levee area. RD 799 will incur costs to process the bridge permits. The County agrees to reimburse RD 799 for their costs to process the permits. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The Bethel Island Road Bridge will not be replaced.
