County �9 SUBJECT: BYRON AIRPORT-FINAL APPLICATION AND ACCEPTANCE OF FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION GRANT MONEY FOR A MASTER PLAN (INCLUDING ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS) AND BUSINESS PLAN SPECIFIC REQUES-1(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION 1. Recommended Action: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors to sign a Statement of Acceptance of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant money for a Master Plan (including environmental analysis) and Business Plan for the Byron Airport in the amount of$315,000 on behalf of Contra Costa County. 11. Financial Impact: The total cost of the Byron Airport Master Plan and Business Plan is $350,000. Ninety percent (90%) or $315,000 will be funded by a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), four and one-half percent (4.5%)will be funded by a grant from the State of California in the amount of$15,750, and five and one-half percent (5.5%) local share of$19,250 will funded from t rport Enterprise Fund. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: On August 15, 2000, the Board of Supervisors authorized a Preapplication in the amount of$315,000, for an Airport Master Plan and Business Plan at Byron Airport. Submittal of the final Application and Acceptance of said Grant are the final steps in the process. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The Airport would not receive Grants from the FAA (90%) and CALTRANS Airport Improvement Project funds (4.5%), which would result in the Airport Enterprise Fund funding the entire costs of the Master Plan and Business Plan totaling $350,000.
