The County is also required to implement programs specified in the County's Source Reduction and Recycling Element (ERRE). The County's SRRE calls for the implementation of greenwaste and mixed paper recycling. Instituting expanded recycling of paper products and composting of greenwaste in the unincorporated areas served under the County's franchise with Garaventa Enterprises will help reduce the amount of waste being deposited in landfills and also help in meeting the County's SRRE program goals. There are three areas served under the County's franchise with Garaventa Enterprises: Discovery Bay, the Byron Area, and part of Bay Point. The rate increase would be $1.73 per household.
