FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by Enterprise I in the Health Services Department ' s Budget . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : On May 25, 1999, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-292-3 , with West Contra Costa Transit Authority, for the period from May 1, 1999 through April 30, 2000, to provide non-emergency, fixed route bus transportation services in order to transport County patients between Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and County Health Center in Richmond. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDER ACTION: Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Milt Camhi) , to execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-301-2 with Bay Area Perinatal Consultants, Inc. , for the period from February 1, 2000 through January 31, 2001, for the provision of professional OB/GYN services for the Contra Costa Health Plan, to be paid as follows : a. For Medi-Cal and commercials Members: County shall pay Contractor those rates set forth in the Medi-Cal schedule of Maximum Allowances in effect on August 1, 1998. In the event rate increases are subsequently approved by the State of California and are included in the County's Health Plan capitated payment, County will thereafter increase the rates County pays to Contractor accordingly. b. For Medicare members: Services for members who are Medicare recipients will be reimbursed at the Medicare rate of payment. Physician will bill Medicare as primary payor and County will pay Medicare-required copayments and deductibles for Medicare approved services. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services . BACKGROUND/REASON(S)-.- FOR RECON MENDATIONN CS) : The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. On March 2 , 1999, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract ##27-301-1 with Bay Area Perinatal Consultants, Inc . , for the period from February 1, 1999 through January 31, 2000 . Approval of Contract ##27-301.-2 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide professional OB/GYN services to Contra Costa Health Plan members, through January 31, 2001 . FISCAL IMPACT: None. Approval of Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-203-75 will allow minor revisions of line items in the budget . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATIONS) For over eighteen years the County has participated in the WIC Program with the State. This is a mandated program under the Community Health Services Division of the State Department of Health Services . WIC is a nutrition education, counseling and food supplement program for low- income, pregnant, postpartum and breast-feeding women, infants and children at nutritional risk. Approximately 16, 550 clients are served by this program. Approval of Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-203-75 will allow minor revisions of line items in the budget and allow the County to continue to participate in the WIC Program through September 30, 2002 . Four certified/sealed copies of this Board order should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECQMMENDATION(S) : On January 19, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23- 251 (as amended by Contract Extesnion Agreement #23-251-1) with Ad Club Advertising Services, for the period from December 31, 1999 through December 31, 2000, to provide advertising services for the Department' s Personnel office. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #23-251-2 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of advertising services through December 30, 2000 . FISCAL IMPACT: Funding for this Contract is included in the Health Services Department' s Enterprise I Budget . BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RRECOMMENDATION(S) : This Contract allows the Contractor to recruit qualified candidates for extremely difficult to fill positions at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and. Contra Costa Health Centers . These vacancies have increased cost to County due to overtime expenses and delays on important projects . The Contractor is paid a fee only if a successful candidate is placed with the County. In May, 2000, the County Administrator approved and. the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #23-285 with Executive Recruiters International, for the period from February 1, 2000 through January 31, 2001, for recruitment of an U.R. Nurse Manger position at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.
