HEAR.and CONSIDER all objections or protests, if any, to the written report filed by the Public Works Director, said written report containing a description of each parcel of real property receiving water service within said County Service Area and the amount of the charge against each parcel for fiscal Year 2000- 2001; and B. ADOPT the report and DETERMINE annual water service charges for Fiscal Year 2000-2001, as described therein; and C. ADOPT Ordinance No. 9; and D. DATE: JULY 11, 2000 PAGE: -2- 1. Recommended Action (continue l: E. DIRECT the County Auditor-Controller to levy the annual water service charges on the tax roll for Fiscal Year 2000-2001. Ii. Financial impact: The above actions have no impact on County finances. Water service in County Service Area M-27 is funded entirely by annual water service charges. iii. Reasons for Recomm+�ndations and Background:, On May 23, 2000, the Board set July 11, 2000 at 9:00 a.m., in the Board Chambers, as the time and place for a public hearing on the written report filed by the Public Works Director. All required hearing notices have been given. The proposed annual water service charges are needed to Rind and maintain water service within the County Service Area M-27. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: The County Service Area M-27 would have to reduce or eliminate water service or raise the necessary revenue by other means. ORDINANCE NO. 9 BEFORE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, AS AND CONSTITUTING THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SERVICE AREA M-27 AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE ANNUAL WATER SERVICE CHARGES FOR FISCAL YEAR.2000-2001 IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SERVICE AREA M-27 The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, as and constituting the Board of Directors of Contra Costa County Service Area M-27, ordains as follows: SECTION 1. ANNUAL UNIT CIIARGE FOR FISCAL,YEAR 2000-2001. For fiscal year 2000-2001,the annual unit charge referred to in Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1 is prescribed at$120.00. SECTION 2. COLLECTION ON TAX ROLL. The Board of Directors elects to collect the annual water service charge on the Fiscal Year 2000-2001 Assessment Roll. SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance becomes effective 30 days after passage and,within 15 days after passage, shall be published once with the names of supervisors voting for and against it in the Contra Costa Times, a newspaper published in the county.
