r j,
The philosophy of wellness programs is to emphasize the importance of preventing
chronic diseases before they happen or to halt its progress by encouraging employees to
make healthier lifestyle choices.
The benefits of an employee wellness program are not always obvious. The experience
of many wellness programs has been that the indirect benefits of an employer sponsored
health promotion program include:
• increased productivity
• increased energy level
• improved morale and employer image
Wellness Programs that experience strong, support and encouragement from their
managers also reap greater success and higher participation with their wellness
activities.
