Dear Mr. Batchelor:
1 want to thank you, your staff, the Health Department, the Community Services
Department, and the Head Start staff for the way the Hepatitis A exposure in the Head
Start program was handled. On behalf of the Regional Office and the Dead Start
children, staff, and parents who were exposed to hepatitis A through tainted strawberries,
we are grateful for your expeditious and professional handling of this situation that had
such potential for serious consequences. We were especially impressed with the
collaborative effort among the various County Departments.
