FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 21% by Federal Transportation Development Act (TDA) Funds through an Interdepartmental Agreement with the Public Works Department and 79% by a Required County Match and additional County Funding. BACKGROUNDIREASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATIONS) On August 17, 1999, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22-721-1 with Molly White for the period from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000 for consultation and technical assistance to the Department with regard to County's Bicycle-Head Safety Education Projects. Approval of Contract #22-721-2 will allow the Contractor to continue providing service through June 30, 2001. (BASN) Project. FISCAL IMPACT: This project is funded as follows: $346,540 State BASN funds 51, 000 Alternative to General Assistance Program (AGAP) funds $397, 540 Total BAC><GROUNDJREASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : The California Department of Corrections (CDC) through the State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs, funds substance abuse treatment services for CDC-approved parolees, referred to as the Bay Area Service Network (BASN) Project. This Contract meets the social needs of County' s population in that it provides substance abuse treatment services for parolees. On August 17, 1999, The Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24-640-11 (as amended by Administrative Amendment Agreement #24-640-12) with Bi-Bett Corporation for the period from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2000. Novation Contract #24-640-13 replaces the six-month automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2002 . FISCAL IMPACT: None. HACKGROUNDIREASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : On June 24, 1997 , the Board of Supervisors approved Unpaid Student Training Agreement #26-209-2 with the University of the Pacific for its Department of Physical Therapy to provide the University's students with field education in physical therapy at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) . Supervised clinical and field work experience is considered to be an integral part of both educational and professional preparation. As a teaching hospital, CCRMC can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students' services to patients. Approval of Unpaid Student Training Agreement #26-209-3 will allow students enrolled at the University of the Pacific to continue receiving clinical and field experience in physical therapy through June 30, 2003 . Smith, for the provision of consultation and technical assistance to the Department's Community Wellness and Prevention Program with regard to health promotion and media outreach services for the Community Education and Information Project, for the period from July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000. Approval of Contract #22-730-1 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through December 31, 2000. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is 100% State/Federal funded. BACKGROUND/REASON(S) FOR RECOMMENDATION(S) : In May 2000, the County Administrator approved, and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #22-770 with Center for Applied Local Research, for the period from March 1, 2000 through February 28, 2001 to provide consultation and technical assistance with regard to needs assessment and data analysis for the AIDS Program. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #22-770-1 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of service through February 28 , 2001 .
