HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04252000 - C10-C13 t sh�yy L(/ IN THE MATTER OF HONORING RESOLUTION NO. 2000/188 ROSS HUBBARD TOWN OF MORAGA MANAGER ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RESIGNATION WHEREAS, ROSS HUBBARD has served as an exemplary leader by modeling the highest community standards for the Eagle Scouts and their civic projects;and WHEREAS, ROSS HUBBARD served as a member of the Lamorinda School Bus Transportation Joint Powers Authority in the years of its formation;and WHEREAS, ROSS HUBBARD served as a contributing and original member of the Central Contra Costa Solid'Waste Authority;and WHEREAS, ROSS HUBBARD served as Town Manager for the past eleven years with a calming business like and gentlemanly manner with leadership that has provided direction through two General Plans for the Town of Moraga,and WHEREAS, ROSS HUBBARD has made the community a better place by touching many lives in the community with his support of programs such the Moraga Beautification Project, the annual Fourth of July Celebration,the 25`" Anniversary Celebration and the expansion of the Moraga Commons Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby honor and commend Upon his resignation and wish him all the best in thefuture. Phil Batchelor,County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. , Deputy Clerk Jfve cj3 oa4z 4 o5 upvai�� of &Aa &AA In the Matter of Commending Resolution No. 2000/171 Machrina Blasdell for her Ministry WHEREAS, on May 7, 2000 we celebrate the Ministry of Machrina Blasdell for her twelve years of service as Executive Director of the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS, with selfless devotion she embraced congregations and faith organizations that represent the diverse population of Contra Costa County in order to unite the faith community; and WHEREAS, she administered council actions and formed a presence in the community where the wisdom of faith traditions is revered and where the deepest values of people are respected; and WHEREAS, through the Council, she advocated for the equal treatment of all of the people of Contra Costa County and provided a forum to bring representatives from every level of the county together so meaningful consultation could take place; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVED that Machrina Blasdell be commended for her service and her values and strength of character that provided for the advocacy of spiritual development; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Machrina's actions serve as an example for all citizens to be of service to others and to make a positive difference in the community. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, together with the California Legislature,the Superior Court of California,County of Contra Costa,the Judicial Council of California,the Jury Education Management Forum,and trial courts statewide,are committed to the following goals: 0 Encouraging all citizens to support the jury system and appear when summoned for service,thereby fulfilling this most important civic responsibility shared by every member of a democracy; ♦ Applauding the efforts of jurors who fulfill this most important civic duty; �► Recognizing employers who fulfill their civic responsibility by supporting employees who are called upon to serve as jurors; Promoting equal justice by ensuring that the responsibility of jury service is shared fairly among citizens and that a fair cross section of the community is called for jury service;and ♦ Ensuring that all jurors are treated with the courtesy and respect due to a valued participant in the justice process.
