Reasons for Recommendations and Background: This project will provide a digital photographic image for use with the County Geographic Information System (GIS). In addition to the photo imagery, we will be capturing contour and street centerline information. This will be useful for a wide variety of GIS applications such as watershed modeling, emergency response, and environmental concerns. The overall contract cost will be shared among a consortium of agencies, broken down as follows: $214,161 NPDES (Clean Water Program) $214,151 Public Works Dept (GST funds) $25, 875 Central Contra Costa County Sanitary District $7,803 Iron House Sanitary District $462,000 The previous figure does not include street centerline collection. The cost to capture centerlines is $93,000. This cost will be paid for entirely through GST funds. $462,000 Overall project (excluding centerlines) 1-21000 Centerline capture $555,000 Total project cost Note: No General Fund Money will be used. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: Delay of GIS progress and possible derailment of consortium.
