Dow Donna:
I am writing on behalf of'the Million Mom March,a grassroots organlZation dedicated to the
eradication of gun violence. On Mother's Day 2000 (May 14)we intend to march on Wiashingtor
D.C. and in dries around the country, one million strong,to call on Congress to enact common
sense gun legislation.
No one understands the pain of losing a child like a mother. We have had to watch too many
mothers mourn the senseless deaths of their children in the schools and on the streets. Our natior.
stands alone in the world in the number of children who are killed by handguns each daft. ugh
is enough.
Through our web site(httpJlwww.mllfronmommwch. om), newsletter, toll free number and
volunteer network we reach thousands of exams nationwide daily. These are warren from every
walk of life who feel passionately about this cause. Our goal is to promote a grassroots movement
to enact common sense gun policy. We are not alone In our cause. Everyday a new poll confutes
that Americans favor stronger gun legylslartion.
I am asking you to support gammon sense gun legislation and to add our County Board or.
Suporvism to the list of endorsements for the Million Mom March. I have included
dut died information about our mission and our policy goals.
Gun violence takes the lives of 13 children every day in this country. This is intolerable, and we
Will no longer stand by and let it happen. With your support,we will make a difference.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
r
