HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03072000 - C.20C.2 C.22 Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, State of California IN THE MATTED.OF HONORING } STANLEY CLIFFORD HANSEN, } PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT } CHIEF OF ADMINISTRATIVE } SERVICES, ON THE OCCASION } OF HIS RETIREMENT } Resolution No. 2000/83 WHEREAS, Stanley Clifford(Cliff)Hansen began his career with Contra Costa County Civil Service Department January 4, 1971,transferredd to the Public Works Department on September 15, 1980 as an Administrative Services Assistant III,was promoted to Administrative Services Officer on October 27, 1982 and became the Chief of Administrative Services on May 1, 1992; and WHEREAS, Cliff was instrumental in organizing the Public Works Open House Program in 1992; and WHEREAS, Cliff chaired the 1996 Public Works Charity Drive increasing total dollars donated, amount donated per employee, and the percent of employee participation; and WHEREAS, Cliff was commended many times throughout his career,receiving a nomination and being one of the finalist for the 1997 Management Leadership Award in the County's Award of Excellence Program; and WHEREAS, Cliff is active in professional organizations and has received accolades for being the chair of the Salary Committee for the County Engineers Association of California; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County that Stanley Clifford Hansen be commended for his 29 years of dedicated service to Contra Costa County; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Stanley Clifford Hansen,his wife, children and grandchildren enjoy his retirement years in good health and great happiness. WHEREAS, Jerry Prideaux first became employed by Contra Costa County on June 29, 1965 and worked in the Public Works Dept,Data Processing and the Auditor-Controller before going to the library; and WHEREAS,Jerry Prideaux has worked as the Business Manager for the library since 1975;and WHEREAS, Jerry Prideaux for 25 years has been relied on by library staff for his knowledge, expertise and advice; and WHEREAS, Jerry Prideaux has provided the leadership for all personnel, budget, labor relations and facilities projects for the Contra Costa County Library for 25 years; and WHEREAS, Jerry Prideaux has built strong working relationships with other County departments and with the cities in Contra Costa County that have greatly benefited the library;and WHEREAS,Jerry Prideaux has stayed on two years past his retirement to assist the library in transitioning to a new management team; and WHEREAS, Jerry Prideaux represents what is finest about County employees as demonstrated by his work ethic every day; and WHEREAS, Jerry Prideaux will be greatly missed by everyone he has worked with. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County commends Jerry Prideaux for his 36 years of service to Contra Costa County and wishes him a happy retirement and well wishes for his future endeavors. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board members present. Deputy Clerk solution No. 2000/85 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY IN THE MATTER OF COMMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2000/86 Bonita Granlund on her Retirement from the Mental Health Division of Contra Costa Health Services WHEREAS, Bonnie Granlund has been an advocate and service provider for the children of Contra Costa County for more than 30 years, first with the Department of Social Services and the George Miller Centers and since 1976 with the Mental Health Division of Contra Costa Health Services; and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund was instrumental in creating the first public sector family preservation collaborative in the United States here in Contra Costa County, and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund is rightfully considered the "mother of children's mental health" in Contra Costa County because of her clear vision and consistent nurturing of what has become the Children's System of Care; and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund was involved in the creation of Contra Costa County's model early childhood mental health service system that has been the best and most comprehensive such system in the State for many years; and WHEREAS, Ms. Granlund has demonstrated incisive thinking about and been uncompromising in her quest for excellence in developing and delivering services to Contra Costa County's children; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, in recognition of Bonnie Granlund's commitment and service, extends its sincere gratitude and good wishes to her in a most deserved retirement. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 71 day of March, 2000.
