RECOGNITION IO OF THE�Dy DEDICATION RESOLUTION NO. 99/284 OF THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER ER WHEREAS, THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER details the history of Moraga and the rancho Laguna de los Palos Colorados Land. Grant of circa 1535; and WHEREAS, the story of the original agreement between Joaquin Moraga and his cousin Juan Bernal with the Mexican Government for 13,000 acres of land is archived at THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER; and WHEREAS, THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER, as an addition to the Moraga Public Library, houses the archives of Moraga for public research; and WHEREAS, a priceless collection of historical documents, artifacts, oral history tapes, photographs, maps and volumes of documents are stored at THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER; and WHEREAS, THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER represents the culmination of 15 years of community effort to preserve history; and WHEREAS, THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER represents the Moraga Historical Society which was founded in 1065; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County hereby acknowledges the dedication of this rich historical preservation for the future understanding and research at THE MORAGA HISTORY CENTER. Deputy Clerk I 7/�h fg C�>_q IN THE MATTTER OF PROCLAIMING RESOLL7IOI®f NO. 99/208 JUNE 21 THROUGH 2 7, 1999 AS AMATEUR IO WEED WHEREAS, more than 2,790 County residents are licensed amateur radio operators; and WHEREAS, approximately 450 of these operators are members of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (DACES) and provide invaluable assistance to Deal government agencies and the general public during major emergencies; and WHEREAS, RACES members volunteer their time and equipment to establish vital emergency communication links during emergencies when traditional communications systems may be partially or totally inoperable; and WHEREAS, the volunteer services of amateur radio operators are also used during non- emergency tunes to provide on-site communications for major public events such as parades, walk-a-thons and bike-a-thous; and WHEREAS, the Amateur Radio Field Day, which will be held. ,dune 26 through 27, 1999, also ,provides an opportunity for members of the public to learn about the variety of vital services proNdded by amateur radio operators. Deputy Clerk The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County In the Matter of Resolution No. 99/296 RECOGNIZING WILLIAM GREGORY BINGHAM ON THE ATTAINMENT OF RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT Vv'HEREAS, William Gregory Bingham is a eighteen year old who attends Deer Valley High School in Antioch, California; and WHEREAS, William is a member of Boy Scout Troop 151 in Antioch, a troop sponsored by the Lions Club of Antioch; and W WHEREAS, William co rnpleted his Eagle Project for&-Ilshaw Elementary School where he constructed a brick planter in front of the multipurpose room; installed an irrigation system and planted flowers; and WHEREAS, William has worked long and hard to meet the requirements necessary to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout; and WHEREAS, William will be honored at the Court of Honor on Tuesday,June 22, 1999.
