Resignation of EDAM As Data Coordinator
June 15, 1999
The County and the CCEP met several times with EDAB to explore collaborative opportunities to promote the
East Bay as an economic development region. EDAB has offered to receive similar data for Contra Costa County
and perform the same analysis. Staff has explored accessing the same confidential data from EDD and has
determined that the process of receiving data coordinator designation is both arduous and costly. A more cost-
effective way of accessing the data would be for Contra Costa to designate EDAB as its data coordinator. This
data will be useful for the County, the CCE ', and incorporated cities in identifying growing and declining
industries and will greatly assist in our business retention and development efforts.
